Match Report
Berkhamsted School Boys-U13B vs  Summer Fields School
On: Saturday, 23 Mar 2019
Venue: Away

The boys travelled over to Oxford and unfortunately finished off their season with a heavy loss. Within the oppositions' ranks they had some fast and powerful lads who cut through our defence. In fact, their first try was conceded in the first minute so not a great start. We battled on through the first half but we were second best to most of the 50/50 balls. We only exerted any sort of pressure on their line in the last five minutes of the first half. The second half basically followed the same pattern. we played some better rugby but the opposition just picked up the scraps and scored from our mistakes. At the end of the day they were just much quicker with their decision making and had two fast lads who finished their moves off. This was a shame because the previous game at St George's was just great to watch. The majority of the team had an off day but three lads played very well which was marvellous to see and they know who they are. Their tenacity and courage shone through and I was very proud of them.

I wish this delightful group of lads every success with their rugby in the years to come and as always I will follow their progress in Year 9 closely where the team sheets will be scrutinised. It will be interesting which teams they will represent. Thank you all for a most enjoyable season and thanks to Mr Mahoney and Mr Neill for all their coaching in the course of the season.
