Match Report
Berkhamsted School Boys-U13B vs  St George's School, Harpenden
On: Saturday, 16 Mar 2019
Venue: at Home

A parent who I respect greatly came up to me at the final whistle and said the following. "That was the greatest school boy match of rugby at any level he had ever seen." He has witnessed many fixtures. Looking back on it I totally agree with him. Both sides played the game how it should be played and their skills were just magnificent. Both defences played like International sides and for U13B players to perform like that was just inspirational. The structures in defence for both teams was highly efficient and their line speed was excellent. The tackling was ferocious and brave. Berkhamsted were camped in the St George's 22 for at least 12 minutes at the beginning of the first half but simply could not get over the try line. Wonderful defence by the opposition. The way that the ball was presented in contact was encouraging and the way that Berkhamsted moved the ball across the width of the pitch was great to see. A number of players surpassed themselves. In this game they moved up to another level and they will remember this encounter. I certainly will. This great game is all about playing with confidence and I must admit that every Berkhamstedian played with confidence and most importantly enjoyed it. Their final game is next weekend and I am sure that all of them will relish it. The spirit in the camp is improving all the time and this was most evident when Berkhamsted scored in the final play of the game to level the match. This was thoroughly deserved. What a great way to spend one's Saturday morning. Just fantastic for so many reasons. Well done to all.
