Match Report
Berkhamsted School 2nd XI vs  Dr Challoner's Grammar School
On: Saturday, 30 Mar 2019
Venue: at Home

The boys ended their season with a tight victory against our visitors from across the Buckinghamshire border. With Berkhamsted recording their third consecutive clean sheet, it was Willem who showed composure late in the game to score the only goal of this close encounter. This was a similar fixture to our last game at Haileybury in which the back three were very solid, although we found it difficult to break the deadlock at the other end of the pitch. Despite some tireless work from Will in the middle of the park and some nice link-up play between Harry and Jack, chances were very few and far between. Following Willem’s goal, there was a possible champagne moment, as Jack lined up a free kick on the edge of the penalty area in the last few minutes of his Berkhamsted career. With the script written, the skipper stepped up, only to drill the ball straight into the Challoners Wall. The game finished with a few wild challengers as Jack and Will wasted time in the Challoners corner, and it seemed about time for the cricket season to start.
