Match Report
Berkhamsted School 3rd XI vs  Abingdon School
On: Saturday, 19 Jan 2019
Venue: Away

After the tough challenge of Harrow the 3rd XI achieved another draw but this match was very different. With the majority of the play it really could have been the first victory - but it wasn't to be.

Midway through the first half Abingdon took the lead slightly fortuitously. A long ball over the top made the most of their quick forward line, one of whom lifted the ball over Jonnie Baron in the Berkhamsted goal. The ball came back off the crossbar only for a home attacker to be the first to react and tuck the ball home.

Five minutes later the scores were level. A quickly taken free kick sent Bradley Hucker down the left, a quick one-two with Lucas Avatar-Barnett, then a cross met by Jake Lawrence who finished well.

The second half brought similar fare and again the home side took the lead after a long ball, one of the forwards having time to control it and pass sideways for a team-mate to blast home. Berko fought back and, with five minutes left, Lucas A-B won the ball in the opposition half, bullied his way through three defenders and shot home from just inside the penalty box.

On to the next league game!
