Match Report
Berkhamsted School Boys-U12B vs  Lockers Park School
On: Saturday, 15 Sep 2018
Venue: at Home

Don't be fooled into thinking this was a walkover, this was a hard-fought victory against a resilient Lockers Park side. The opening exchanges were very even, with Berkhamsted looking to pass the ball smartly and Lockers looking to impose themselves by being more direct, but neither side created a clear sight at goal. The game needed an extra bit of composure which finally came towards the end of the first half when Conrad played a lovely first-time ball through to Jack who centred for George to finish from close range. 1-0 at half time was a fair reflection of a first half that Berkhamsted only narrowly shaded.

Lockers start the second period with determined energy and came close to evening things up quickly. Perhaps inevitably, however, such attacking intent left them vulnerable in defence and the Berkhamsted Boys started to move the ball quickly to expose the gaps. Jack scored a quick fire hat-trick and the U12B squad grew in confidence with some neat two-touch football and good use of the wide areas. Jake finished the scoring with a strike from the edge of the box to wrap up a ruthless second half performance.

This was very encouraging football on display and it was good to see the team grow in confidence as they became familiar with their roles. It was difficult to pick out an individual in what was a strong collective performance, but Conrad just shaded it for his vision to unlock the opposition defence for the first goal and a solid performance overall.
